# Utility

We’ve optimized the design of the $THOR token to:

* Incentivize trading, aka the **“Trading Black Hole”**
* **Govern** the THORSwap protocol in a decentralized manner
* **Progressively decentralize** towards majority ownership by the community
* **Reward** positive user actions and community contributions
* **Fee-Sharing** of THORSwap revenues with the community (see [vTHOR](https://docs.thorswap.finance/thorswap/thor/about/vthor) and [uTHOR](https://docs.thorswap.finance/thorswap/thor/about/uthor))
* **Permissioned** access to content and apps
* **Fund** growth efforts and community projects

### **$THOR Staking & Buyback Rewards**

Fees collected on THORSwap are rewarded to amongst contributors and $THOR token holders in the form of Staking Rewards ([vTHOR](https://docs.thorswap.finance/thorswap/thor/about/vthor) & [uTHOR](https://docs.thorswap.finance/thorswap/thor/about/uthor)) and Buyback + burn:

25% of THORSwap revenue will go to THORSwap Treasury for development and maintenance.

55% of THORSwap revenue will accrue back to $vTHOR, $uTHOR, $yTHOR and THOR LP based on the ratio of $THOR in each pool

20% of THORSwap revenue will go towards buyback + burn programme.

## **THORSwap Fee Discounts**

Depending on your $THOR staking amount ([vTHOR](https://docs.thorswap.finance/thorswap/thor/about/vthor)/[uTHOR](https://docs.thorswap.finance/thorswap/thor/about/uthor)), you will be eligible for a discount of up to **100%** off Service Fees when using THORSwap:

It’s important to remember:

> 55% of THORSwap revenue will accrue back to $vTHOR, $uTHOR, $yTHOR and THOR LP based on the ratio of $THOR in each poo&#x6C;**. This means more rewards for $THOR stakers, while still providing our loyal community members with sizable discount benefit.**

Furthermore, **swaps of below $100USD in value will still remain free for all users**.
