📚Backup/Migrate Ctrl (XDEFI) Wallet

How to easily back up your Ctrl (XDEFI) wallet and migrate to THORSwap's built-in Metro Wallet

Ctrl wallet has announced the project is being sunset. Link to official announcement and information.

Starting 3 August 2026, sending, receiving, swapping and dApp connections within the extension will no longer be available.

For all Ctrl (XDEFI) wallet users, please make sure you export and back up your recovery phrase as soon as possible.

You can import into keystore file or our native built-in Metro wallet:

Follow these steps to export your recovery phrase from Ctrl Wallet

1. Open the Ctrl Wallet extension.

2. Go to Settings > Wallet Management.

3. Select your wallet name.

4. Tap Show Recovery Phrase.

5. Write down the recovery phrase in the exact order the words appear. Store this physical copy in a safe, secure location.

⚠️ Important: Your recovery phrase gives full access to your wallet and all assets within it. Never share it with anyone, never take a screenshot of it, and never store it in a plain text file on your device.

Follow these steps to import your wallet to THORSwap's built-in Metro Wallet:

1. Click Connect on top right corner.

2. Choose Import under Metro Wallet or Ctrl Wallet under wallet selection.

3. Follow instructions and enter the seed/recovery phrase backed up from Ctrl Wallet.

4. Set Password and Passkey (optional).

5. Voila! You can now easily manage your wallet from now on in THORSwap.
